Whirlo is early, and these terms are a plain-language starting point, not a finished legal document - treat anything payment-related here as provisional until real payment processing is live.
Your trips, photos, and notes are yours. Logging a trip doesn't hand us any ownership over it. Publishing a route makes the free (unlocked) portion visible to anyone with the link; the locked portion stays hidden until someone buys it or you unlock it for them.
You set the price, between £0 and £25. Whirlo takes a flat 5% of every route sale, applied the same way to every seller - there's no different rate for early sellers. If your route was cloned from someone else's, an additional 20% of the sale goes to them as a royalty (that's between you and them, not a Whirlo fee) - you keep the remainder either way. A buyer who unlocks a route gets a private, editable copy of it in their own archive.
Don't publish a route for a trip you didn't take. We won't fabricate content on your behalf either - a photo caption we guess, or a trip drafted from your own words, is always something you review and edit before it's saved, never published without your say-so.
Free accounts are capped at 5 trips and 1 published route - nothing you've already logged is ever locked because of the plan you're on. Pro (£29/yr) removes those caps and includes up to £40/yr of route unlocks (paced at up to £10/month, so it can't be spent all at once).
We can suspend an account for abuse - scraping, fraudulent listings, harassment. You can stop using Whirlo and delete your trips at any time.
Whirlo is provided as-is, without guarantees about uptime, accuracy of place lookups, or fitness for any particular purpose. It's a record-keeping and marketplace tool, not travel advice.
